Have used this in the past and the quality is just not there anymore. Measured thickness and it was lacking, length was even short. I’m not sure if the company is outsourcing for cheaper product or what but very disappointed from lack of functionality.

Does the job nicely. The 10ml thickness is good enough for the gravel ground barrier and it doesn’t poke through. Delivery took longer than expected.

Good vapor barrier. Good heavy plastic I think will last. I used it for a vapor barrier in a crawl space, worked well. Also used the 4” wide tape found on Amazon.

I have been undertaking the process of encapsulating parts of my basement, that were left more looking like a crawl space. There is exposed dirt and other things that has been left over the years. While there are plans to take care of this stuff more permanently in the future, encapsulation is probably the easiest first step to reduce humidity release into the house, and to overall protect the house for various encroachments whether those be insects or water. As such I have bought several different versions of encapsulation material, and this is perfectly on par with anything that I've bought locally at a home renovation store or at a typical run-of-the-mill department store. I have also ordered one additional brand of 10 mil encapsulation material from Amazon as well, and this one was just as well made as that other brand. Some might think that it's difficult to mess up 10 mil plastic, given the fact that 10 mil plastic has to be a certain thickness. However I have found that some 10 mil plastic seems to be more fragile than others. I'm going to assume that this has to do with the chemistry makeup of the plastic sheeting. This has a small amount of give to it so that it's less likely to be punctured even when stepped on and there happens to be a rock or some other abrasive material underneath the plastic. The 10 mil sheeting that I bought at a home improvement store actually was easily punctured when I stepped on it and there happened to be a piece of jagged stone underneath it. However I have liberally stepped on this particular sheeting and have had no punctures except for when I tested it with knife blades. I even accidentally grazed it with a sawzall while changing out some plumbing, and it barely made a nick in the plastic. It did make a small hole, but that was easily fixable with some waterproof duct tape. If you're looking to encapsulate a basement, crawl space, or you merely need some hardcore landscaping plastic to prevent any wayward weeds from growing this is definitely a good option. As well as a good brand to pick from. Highly recommended.
