The down cut spiral design provides the best top surface edges, ejecting chips away from the router when routing through material. This design also decreases the tendency to lift thin/small work pieces during CNC routing.

I suppose it didn't say and I (wrongly) assumed it was a 1/2" shank. The Shank is for 3/8".I'm sure it's a great bit, but I have no way of finding out.
