The soldering iron itself is pretty good for the price. It gets up to temp fast, seems fairly accurate on temps, and holds it's temperature well during use. It wasn't packaged all that great, but most irons in this price range are similar. It's lightweight and the variety if tips included are nice. Most of the other included accessories aren't really that high quality. The 'flux' is just a solid puck of resin, and the solder is generic lead-free stuff that doesn't flow all that well. The wick works alright if you can add some liquid or paste flux to it before use. The star of the show here is the iron itself. If you can pair it with some higher quality solder and real flux it works very well.

The box was questionable but the worst part was the rock hard flux

I learned to solder in the 1960’s and still have and use a 25W Weller soldering pencil from that era, shown next to this WORKEASE soldering pencil in the attached photo. I did a lot more soldering with professional equipment in my career as an experimental physicist and normally used professional level equipment. At some point, however, bargain electronics from China became too good to ignore, particularly when they started incorporating features that my vintage equipment did not. This Workease soldering iron is an example; the adjustable power makes it safer to use and the higher 100 W maximum is much appreciated. It works quite well, heating to temperature faster than my classic Weller. The reason that I am giving it only 4 stars rather than 5 is that my overall impression was that this is a cheap tool that won’t last as long as the Weller. The miscellaneous accessories, like the stand, solder, flux and extra tips were loosely packed in a lightweight cardstock box and just fell out when I opened it. You have to assemble the stand and one of the threads started to strip with very little torque. The sponge for cleaning the tip is thinner than any sponge I have ever encountered. All of those negatives aside, the soldering pencil itself works well and the accessories do make a nice, complete soldering kit for someone who does not already have one.
