Build is good, with responsive buttons and lights that never fail. Sensor is good but always double check on well known live circuit before testing target lines. Always use actual voltmeter or amp meter before physical touch, for your own protection.

Had to send one set of these back. Batteries were dead even though they were individually wrapped. Replaced batteries and one still wouldn't work. Amazon was great. They sent a new set out right away. New set had bad batteries also, had to replace them. Otherwise would give 4 stars.

I got this in the mail on time, unwrapped it, installed the batteries, and put it in my toolbox. A couple of days later, I got it out to test a circuit in my garage, and it indicated it was dead. I plugged a fan in, and it started right up. I checked it with the voltage tester again, and it showed dead. Not only that, but I tried it on several other receptacles and all of them checked dead. I checked the batteries and they were good. Just to make sure, I put in new batteries I had bought a few days earlier and got the same results. I tested it on bare wires that I knew were hot and after the 4th set, it indicated a live circuit. Sure happy I didn't cut a wire and find out the hard way it was live. At my age, it could have been my last. This thing is going back.
