I ask a knowledgeable neighbor for help with all my electrical needs. He recently showed me this tester and I immediately ordered one for myself. It takes the guesswork out of what is "live". It's a quick and simple way to determine the possibility of injury from a powered wire, outlet, appliance etc.

It is easy to determine if outlets or wires have live power. I use it when checking outlets, switches, lights, and wire nuts. No direct contact is necessary so it really speeds up the process.
