The 20Pcs Shelf Support Peg (ASIN B0CJRHS7B5) from YOWPEY are solid kit. So much so, in hindsight, I consider them overkill for many and probably would have gone a different route had I my time back. That's not a negative, that's just me saying they require more work than I needed to put in given I was using solid wood. With these you have to drill a suitable sized hole, then tap in the base, and finally screw in the pin. If working with solid wood, this seems excessive... why not just drill a suitable size hole and slide in a pin, right? Again, overkill for solid wood, but if you're looking to fix or work with particle board or MDF, these are exactly what you need.

These are a good replacement for lost shelf pins in bookshelves and cabinets. No complaints, quite sturdy and well made.

Larger in diameter than stated in description. Otherwise a fine product.

These are very good shelf pins that provide a strong support for a shelf. They consist of a threaded insert that fits into a 1/4" hole and the peg then screws into the insert. I am using these on a plywood cabinet I'm building for my workshop but I see these as being a better solution for particle board shelving as they would seem like they would provide a solution that would be less likely for tear out. They are more expensive than most shelf pins but should provide a stronger solution.

These shelf pins are made of a shiny metal that is very strong. They should be able to support any shelf board. They consist of 2 pieces. A metal tube about a quarter of an inch long is tapped into a hole in the sidewall of the cabinet. This piece has threads on the inside and ridging on the outside. The ridging helps to hold the piece it the cabinet wall assuming the right size hole is used. I suggest a test try on scrap wood to make sure you get the right size. You then screw the shelf bracket into the tube. It screws in smoothly and sets tight. The only possible negative I see with this setup might be when you want to move a shelf. You would probably need to use a pair of pliers to grip the bracket and pull the whole unit out of the wall cabinet. If you do this, you should probably use some paper or cloth to protect from marring the bracket. If your set up does not involve frequently moving shelves, then this should not be an issue. Alternatively you could order multiple sets (each containing 10 bracket sets - 2 1/2 shelves) so you have enough base pieces to put in all the holes you are likely to use. If you do this, moving sleeves would be very easy - just unscrew from one hole and screw into another. The price is quite reasonable for the look and strength of this item.
