This soldering iron isn't the worst i guess, but i was hoping it would be at least a little better. The build quality is very lack luster, which is concerning for a product that gets super hot by design.... The cord is super short too, so short i basically can't use it. It doesn't reach the wall plugs nor the surge protector. I need to use a extension cord and that is not great as the weight of the extension cord drags the soldering iron around the desk.Plus the temp dial is very hard to read and to adjust....

Very cheaply made soldering iron. Tip did not heat up so I had to use the side of the tip to melt the solder. Good for a one-time use but not for frequent use. Look elsewhere for a more quality product. Temperature control did not work.

I didn't expect a great soldering iron for such a low price but this thing never even worked. It claims to draw 60 watts but my meter showed that it never drew more than 13, even at the max temperature setting. It warmed up but never got hot enough anywhere to melt the solder it came with or any of the stuff I already had laying around. I left it running for a while to give it a chance to get hot enough and it never would. The body is a very thin plastic and feels cheap. The cord is very short as well. I would look for another option.

I needed a soldering iron for working with LED strips. This iron is just enough to do that. It heats up quickly and it's lightweight. It's a very bare bones iron. Plug it in, do what you need to do and unplug it to cool off. Being that there is no temp regulator this wouldn't be good for circuit boards and such. I do worry that the tips won't last long and aren't made like the universal screw on types. That screams disposable iron to me and I have a dislike for filling landfills over something so trivial as worn out or proprietary parts. But this is a $7.99 iron and you get what you pay for. This iron might just fit your needs but I prefer something with a bit more longevity.

For the price this is a good unit. The unit heated right up and melted the included solder relatively easily. The unit was packaged well. It is small and compact. Packaged in an approximate 2"H x 2.75"W x9.25"L cardboard box. Comes with 2 sets of 5 extra tips, for 11 included tips total. It does include a lightweight functional stand with a small thin sorta usable sponge. There is also flux included. It has an approximate 30" 2 prong power cord. The temperature knob was small, hard to read, hard to turn and was not very linear. Hard to tell if the temp control did anything. If you need something light weight, corded and inexpensive, that will melt solder this is a good choice.Good Luck

I needed a spare kit and this has actually worked well so far. I fired it up to solder a small lighting project and it worked pretty well. For the price, it's a good value
