The switch works as described and supports 60Hz, 4K video and super-speed USB data. It came with a pair of USB cables that have type A connectors on both ends, which is not a very common cable configuration and the cables are only 40" long. It does not come with any HDMI cables. To switch between computers, there is a button on the front of the switch box and an included remote button that can be connected to the front of the switch box with the included, double ended, 3.5mm stereo headphone cable. The remote switch is very nice and clings to smooth surfaces well to keep it where you put it. This switch is missing two features other KVM switches I have owned have. It doesn't allow you to use an attached keyboard to switch computers through a special key sequence and it doesn't present itself to the attached computers as an ever-present HDMI display. With the remote button attached, the lack of a keyboard switching sequence isn't an issue for me but the HDMI behavior greatly increases the time needed to switch between computers. With this switch, switching between computers is electrically equivalent to unplugging the HDMI cable from one computer and plugging it into the other. When you unplug an HDMI display from a PC, it reconfigures itself for the remaining displays if there are any and when you plug an HDMI display into a computer it queries the display's capabilities and other information and configures itself to use the display. I'm using the switch with two Windows 11 PCs and one of them has a secondary display attached. When I switch to one that doesn't have a secondary display, the display starts in a low resolution mode and then switches to the configured resolution after about 10 seconds and the computer with the secondary display moves all the windows that were on the, now disconnected, display to the secondary display. When I switch back to the computer with the secondary display, it moves all the windows from the secondary display back to where they came from, which also takes about 10 seconds. Thus, if you're working on one computer and want to take a quick look at something on the other computer, you have to wait for the displays to reconfigure. Switching between computers that don't have secondary displays is also time consuming. With a KVM switch that maintains the HDMI connections all the time, switching between computers is almost instant. If you don't switch between computers often or quickly, I recommend this switch but if you often want to take a quick look at another computer, this may not be the best switch for you.

I'm using this to share a keyboard and mouse between two Linux Mint computers, one of which is my daily driver and the other is a file server. Both sit on my desk and so I wanted to not have to have two keyboards and mice or manually move USB dongles between the two when I need to perform maintenance on the server. This device is just what I needed. The set up was very simple and both computers had no issue with recognizing it or utilizing the keyboard and mouse attached to it.I don't use the switch extender as I don't have the space on the desk and the main unit is within arms reach at all times, so I can't, unfortunately, vouch for its functionality.I also don't have 4K monitors, though my PCs do have 4K output, but I can say that this switch works well at 1080p.Also, I tried using a USB flash drive through this switch and the data transfer rates are very good.Bottom line: I'm very satisfied with this KVM switch. It works well and was extremely easy to set up, which is not always the case with Linux. 5 stars.

This HDMI KVM switch will allow you to switch between two computers and to use the same monitor and devices just by using the switch button! I personally only wanted to use this as a USB switcher since I already have my monitor situated another way, and this worked great for a USB switch as well! There are 4 USB inputs you can use on either of the computers you have connected, and you just push the switch button to toggle between the two. The KVM box has a nice feel to it - feels solid and has two gripper strips to keep it from moving around. It came with 2 USB cords and cords for power and for the switch button, but no HDMI cords. Very helpful device if you need to switch between computers frequently!

I have both a desktop and laptop computer. The latter one, a work one, is essentially a desktop when I'm not traveling, but I need to switch between computers. Buy a second monitor, keyboard and mouse? Not with this baby!First, yes, it does as advertised: a simple button push, and monitor, keyboard and mouse all switch to the desktop. But it's better than that: extra USB ports, solid construction, good heat dissapation, all in a package that's slim, elegant and small. Ports for every cord, seamless switch over, and extra power to boot.If you have a multi computer setup, this thing is a lifesaver and a desk space saver as well. Amazing value.

This unit came up when I searched for an HDMI switch, which it certainly is, but it is more than that. It is a KVM switch, which I learned stands for keyboard, video, mouse. It switches not only the HDMI output between two computers feeding a single monitor, but also switches all of the USB peripherals connected to the switch, so that both monitor and peripherals, such as mouse, keyboard, external drives, etc., can be switched at the same time. A home application might be where you have both work and personal laptops that you wish to connect to a single large monitor and control with a single external keyboard and mouse combo. This device makes it easy to switch the two laptops between the one input and monitor setup. This device itself is a very neat sturdy, heavy unit no larger than it has to be to accommodate all of its input and output receptacles. For my use, which is switching HDMI inputs to a TV, it has a great feature: a wired control switch. I can hide all the cables and the switch itself behind the TV and only a thin wire and the control switch sit on the cabinet top next to one leg of the TV. The control switch is substantial and has a rubbery base that keeps it from slipping around. Just one touch and the concealed switch does its job, switching inputs to the TV.Although I am not using the USB input switching capabilities of this device, I did check that they work.Overall, I could not be more pleased.

Switching between two devices was instant, with no noticeable delay or disruption. The controls were simple, and the additional USB ports worked flawlessly with peripherals. No random disconnects or lag when using a keyboard or mouse, even when running heavier tasks. The display remained stable without flickering or resolution drops. The build quality felt sturdy, and the included accessories made setup quick. The compact design helped keep the desk tidy without adding unnecessary clutter. The indicator lights were useful for knowing which device was active at a glance. A smooth experience from the start with no unexpected problems.

Alles gut.
