As a beginner, I found this crochet kit quite challenging and not well-suited for someone just starting out. I’ve been searching for a true beginner-friendly kit, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark for me.The yarn included is soft and pleasant to the touch, which I appreciated. However, it tends to split easily while working, which made it frustrating to use. My crochet hook frequently got caught in the yarn, interrupting the flow and making it harder to learn the stitches properly. The instructional video also left a lot to be desired. The pace was too fast for a beginner, and the camera angles didn’t clearly show the actual crocheting process. I often had to pause, rewind, or slow the video down just to try and follow along. A closer and more focused view of the hands and stitches would have made a big difference. On the positive side, the packaging was very nice—much better than other kits I’ve seen. It felt thoughtful and well put together. I also liked that it included a compact pair of scissors, which was a handy addition. However, I was unsure how to use the stitch markers, and I don’t recall them being explained anywhere in the materials.Despite multiple attempts (at least four), I wasn’t able to make much progress with the projects. That said, I did think the little storybook featuring the animals was a charming and creative touch—it added a bit of personality to the kit.Overall, while this kit has some appealing elements, I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. With a few improvements—especially to the instructional materials—it could be much more accessible and enjoyable for those who are just starting to learn crochet.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well put-together this kit was. I've gotten used to buying from cheaper manufacturers where the store just throws in random plastic parts into a box and calls it a "craft kit" or just as bad, where I get things shipped directly from the factory with no instructions and a lot of unpleasant smelling VOCs.You can tell this kit was meticulously put together. It contains all the basics you need for crocheting: yarn, crochet hooks, scissors, stitch markers, and patterns. It's missing things like a proper tapestry needle, but they substituted a regular needle, threader, and pins. They aren't the highest quality tools, there's a lot of cheap plastic. But they're "good enough" for most people getting started. In fact there's so much stuff that the outer box was overfilling and its edges cracking. If not for that it would have been a perfect and impressive gift box.As you can see, the patterns are pretty cute, although they're a little more advanced than I'd expect for a "beginner" kit. They include an instruction book that's pretty well thought-out, in addition to patterns and tutorials, they include backstories behind each of the characters. The writing is pretty trite, uninspired, and probably AI-generated, but at least they're trying. They have step-by-step videos that are about 1 1/2 hours for each animal, walking you literally step-by-step. They're pretty well done but require a lot of patience and focus; if you're a true beginner you'll need to pause and rewind a lot, and refer back to the manual. I'd suggest finding even more beginner-friendly videos on YouTube and experimenting on the basics with those first.Overall, it's not a bad kit. For true beginner's kits I would probably go more with a brand like Bucilla or the Woobles, but this is certainly more affordable.
