So I opened the hood up on my 4Runner a couple of days after installing these and the hood wouldn't stay open, only to find the right side bracket bent where the small pin section sits in the hole on the fender, so the bracket was moving. I fixed that and now the hood won't lift up on its own from any height, I have to raise it all of the way up by hand and sometimes it still wants to ease its way down a couple of inches. After driving around for a while and the engine compartment is hot, it no longer stays up by itself. It gets a plus one star because they are easy to install, only taking about 20 minutes.

These were so easy to install.. Directions were precise and it didn't take but 30 minutes.. my question to Toyota. Why on a 65K Trailhunter weren't these already on it ??????? I am truly happy with these lift jacks. Get you a set for your Gen 4 Tacoma ASAP !!

Wow!!!! Easy installation, uses existing bolts plus one supplied with the kit. Lots of power to lift the hood!!! Best addition to the truck so far!
