This has everything I was looking for and is comfy! It keeps small and fairly large paper and hardback books open quite well. I was worried the page holders would be flimsy, as I've experienced with some other book holders, but these are sturdy enough. However the rubber ends do slide around a bit and can come off, so I think I will glue mine on.The pillow portion has plenty of filling to keep it up high on your lap and the beads inside allow it to not be too rigid so you can reposition the angle as needed. I love that the cover is removable and the whole thing isn't very heavy at all, which is nice. I don't think it would get too hot either.I have a chunkier phone case and my phone and kindle fit in the tablet slit just fine. The slit has some holes in it, probably for ventilation so things don't get too hot. But you might be able to run a charging cord through while using the pillow if you had to.

Smaller than expected. The photos show that the top tapers in size as you get to the book stand but there are no measurements for the smallest part of the table. My 10.5" laptop was too big for this and I noticed beads were already escaping from the cushion.I did like that the bottom is larger than other lap tables. The microbead filling makes it easier to adjust. Thickness of the bottom allows one to stand the table at a more vertical angle than others. Ideal for iPads, tablets, small games, and books.

This lap desk is just the right size to support most books and laptops. The pillow section is filled with small beads that easy conform to your lap and hold the desk/table firmly in place. The beads also do not get hot on your lap.

It's great. This beats all the other book stands I have had, easy. The size is perfect for big and small books. Pretty sure the bamboo look is just a look, which is fine by me because past book stands have come apart, so just being a design is great. The little arms work so well to hold down pages and the cushion, is chunky but so useful. You can pretty much set it up anywhere with the cushion, on your lap, next to you, where ever, and because of the cushion you can angle it all kinds of ways. I have a tendency to sit in mysterious ways and have a cat somewhere around so being able to plop it next to me and continue reading is so helpful. So, perfect book stand. Sometimes, you just need to be hands free when reading a physical book. The cushion is a neoprene fabric, and very soft and cushy. I haven't tried removing the cushion. I don't have much use for the slot that runs along the top, but certainly a useful detail.I just pretty much carry this from the bed to the sofa all the time now. It's a great companion.

I've been using this for both my books and my iPad (12 in.) very successfully. I had a different one that I was using but discovered this works much better if you are hoping to have something that is on your lap while reclining. The book/tablet is better angled because you can mold the beanbag part to your lap whereas a hard bottomed book stand sits as crookedly as you do.All of it is sturdy except for those bottom clips. I don't expect those to last very long because they feel very fragile. I took a star off for that. Fortunately I have a book bone that I will use as soon as that happens. Also, I do think that it's overpriced at $44. $30-35 would be much more reasonable. No where in the description did it explain that the slot at the top was a pencil holder. I learned that from another reviewer. lol I don't know how they got it to hold the iPhone as mine will not fit in there with the protective case on it. Still, if that was what it was intended for then they should have written a better description. Still, I'm using it every day so I'm very happy with it.

I am so happy to have this. For starters it lets me position my computer/Kindle at a height and angle that is usable on my lap in an easy chair. I can read a book in bed with out using my body as the support, so I can avoid the awkward positions that entails. It is so much better for my neck all the way around. It can be used for cookbooks in the kitchen, but I put it on a rubber mat so I don’t bump into it and cause a slide or a fall.I use it to relax with a crossword puzzle before sleep. It has a pencil holder built in (or for your phone). For some books with fine print, I add it onto my desktop so I can pull the book closer to read. The wood is smooth enough to write notes on it. There is a bottom ledge to keep things from sliding down, and page holders for books. I have not tried it as a pillow, but it is an intriguing thought.

I absolutely love this bean bag lap desk for both work and fun. My job requires me to grade paper copy literature and this lap desk makes it comfortable for me to do this while in bed or on the couch. The lap desk has a slit on the top that's for holding your cell phone/tablet and has made life easier for virtual meetings. Also, the bean bag is super flexible and molds to any position you need the desk in for the task. In addition, my 15" laptop fits perfectly on the desktop with the touch screen still being easily accessible. The lap desk is made quite well and seems to be pretty durable. I like how stuffed the bottom bag is and is still able to be at any angle you needed to be. Also, the wood surface is smooth which is great if you're having to write on paper using this desk. The clamps for holding book pages are made with high quality plastic and have a tight grip. I haven't needed to clean the lap desk yet, but I did separate the bean bag from the desk and it was fairly easy to get on and off.The cost for this lap desk is about average as far as lab desks go and is surely worth it. I am without a doubt recommending this bean bag lap desk for anyone looking for comfort in doing "desk work" anywhere but at a desk!
