This is an inexpensive moveable stage that can replace the stage clips on a student microscope. It installs quickly, I just removed the stage clips on the student microscope with a Phillips head screw driver, and then placed the device on the back of the stage where there was a hole for the adjustable screw and two smaller holes for the guide pins on the device. The device rides a little high on the stage, it is not perfectly smooth, and needs a careful touch when in use. I still have not seen how it holds up under student use, however. It is especially effective when I am using a phone camera as a screen to take pictures of the slides. The small, controlled movements that the moveable stage allows are much more effective that trying to move the slide with your fingers under this circumstance. If you want to take pictures of what is on a slide with a digital camera on your phone, then I highly recommend this moveable stage attachment.
