Bit feels rugged but slow. you need to push it along because it’s dull.Competition bits are cheaper. They are also sharper/faster but weak and break constantly. These bits are a better bang for your buck. Not necessarily better though. If they were sharper they’d be great.

Don't try to use regular drill bits to cut drywall, or anything, sideways. Just don't. I know, you look at it and think, that's sharp, I can just apply a bit of sideways pressure and it'll work. It won't. It's dangerous and will probably just break your bit. These are designed exactly for that - cutting holes in drywall. For access panels, electrical work, repairs to things inside walls. Similar to the bits from my old Sears RotoZip tool, but for a drill. So much easier than using a keyhole saw. As long as you have room for your drill you can use these. They also allow much more control than a keyhole saw. So if you want to cut a 4" circle, piece of cake. Or a 4"x5" rectangular hole. Also easy. Or a 3x2x6x1 frankenstein hole. Yep, you can do that, too. But you probably shouldn't!About a buck fifty a bit is a bargain, especially considering how much time you'll save using these vs. the way your old man used to do it!

I wanted to try this cut out bit because I'm installing things on the wall and cutting out some sections to repair. The set comes with a nice holder but doesn't separate out all the bits - most are in individual holders but the rest are just loose against each other.I don't have a cut out specialized tool so I just used my drill/driver. I expected to be able to first use the bit to punch the initial hole through the drywall, but the bits don't seem to be designed to drill a hole. If I compare them to the DeWalt bits, those have a head that can carve, while these bits seem to be rounded and gets stuck on the surface until I push it through hard. I think this is a major flaw because who wants to first drill a bunch of holes, and then change bits to do the cut out piece? The price is actually more expensive per bit than DeWalt multi-material bit, and that bit looks like it will drill easily.

Having had issues with some electrical boxes around the house I grabbed the bits for the drywall work. I wanted to make as clean of a cut as I could and these are perfect for the job. I'm no expert at making a straight line but it's easier than a little hand saw that you can barely jab at the wall with. These bits speak for themselves as to their abilities, fast and loud. As for durability, well I probably won't break any bits on drywall, so I'd feel safe to say they will remain durable. I guess this package is a contractor pack cause there are really way more bits than I'll use in my short career as a drywall guy, seems like a great price though if you did eat these bits up on a daily basis. Seems like a no-brainer that these are a good deal and easily recommended as such. I'll be patient as to their durability, they may outlive me.

These are a pretty good set of bits especially given the price and performance. I tend to only purchase rotozip brand bits as they are usually some of the best you can find but I have been looking for alternatives as they are also rather expensive for what you are getting so I'll be comparing my experience of using these bits vs. using rotozip bits. When it comes to drywall these perform as well as the rotozip bits and seem to last as long as well, I was able to get nice and smooth cuts and move up and down at the same rates as the rotozip bits. When it comes to sheetrock it tore these bits up, to be far it tends to destroy rotozip bits too but the rotozip bits do last longer but not by a large amount. If you're going to be cutting drywall then this is a no brainer, these perform just as well as rotozip but and this is the big but, rotozip bits are frequently on sale, at least at my local hardware store, so often these will be slightly more than rotozip bits. As we are talking a few dollars here it's not a big deal and given these perform nearly the same it's not a big deal so if you're looking for a high quality alternative to rotozip that is priced about the same these are excellent

Update: now that I have used these bits during a full-blown remodel, I have found they dull fairly quickly while cutting standard 1/2” drywall, and don’t last as long as others that I use. This is an excellent quality set of high speed steel bits for cutting around electric boxes when hanging drywall. The bits themselves compare favorably to any other quality bits I have used, but the thing I really like is the case they come in. I generally buy blister packs and they bang around in the bag I carry my RotorZip, getting lost, breaking and mixing with the old, dull ones. This case is great for keeping them organized and has clips to carry 8 new bits with a separate area that works well to store a few used ones that still have some life left in them. This set has been a nice addition to my tool bag!

These bits are seeming to hold up well and stay sharp for as long as major brand bits I have used. They work well in my 20volt Dewalt cutout tool. The case is nice to keep them from finding the bottom of my tool box as well as protecting them from dulling without use. These exceed my expectation for the price and I will buy again.
