This part seemed to be clocked 180 degrees from the original distributor but it does work

The cast casing has a lot of holes of porosity. Cap and rotor feels cheap. Rotor is a bit loose on the shaft. One bracket of the pickup coil is bend. I'll install it and maybe add a star if it do the works and maybe another one if it last. It's to convert my M38A1 in 12v to have standard wires and spark plugs. Tired of the points. Edit : works great after a year.

I have installed six of these on different Jeeps without any issues at all. I will never mess with a worn out points distributor again. Every old Jeep I work on gets one of these distributors now. Have now installed eight of these. Have not had a single issue with any of them.

It did work. However my timing is off because, either way the bracket is mounted, you will need to extend the length of the "throw" where you can adjust timing. And now the REALLY BAD PART: the contact spring button in the cap has frozen. Every few days I have to bend the cheap contact on the rotor for it to work. NO FUN.I was given an e mail for "customer support" from OMIX. I've written them three times and have NO response whatsoever.Don't waste your time and money. Buy an original or have yours rebuilt. It's a shame that we are subject to parts made in China that are basically CRAP. They could be made much better but it's all about the money I guess.POORLY MADE but works, sort of.NON EXISTANT CUSTOMER SERVICE.UPDATE: I did finally hear from "Truck-Hero" through "Lund International." They are sending me something - not sure if it's an entire distributor or just a cap. But they apologized for the delay with the usual excuse I've heard from countless companies "Due to the high volume of bla bla bla..." You'd think that all these companies would perhaps CHANGE they way they respond to messages? Even an auto reply would have been nice.So I'm waiting for something that was shipped yesterday October 4, 2021.I miss the days of actually buying something at a store where you can actually inspect it. Or, even online from a company that is real and not just a distributor that drop ships. I bought from a distributor distributor it seems.

Perfect replacement on a 1947 CJ2A. Looks like a period correct part....no more points/condenser to deal with, especially on a little used vehicle. (It’s not a daily driver, so it sits quite a bit and the points were always corroded. Once you put Cylinder 1 on TDC, drop the distributor in (it only goes in one way due to the keyed shaft). See where the rotor is pointing and set that as your #1 plug wire. Fired right up.

Great product. Replaced old distributor with points. Starts and runs so much better! Only issue was rotor was 180 degrees off from original. Just make sure you route plug wires correctly.

Easy install, perfect fit on my 1948 cj-2a with l-134. I've installed two of these units on L-134 and each one works great. I first bought a Crowne even though the look the same this has tighter perfect fit and actually fires. Crowne was faulty, would not create spark.

I had to do some tweaking on the mount - I ended up using the old mount from my IGW distributor, but that required turning down (lathe) the shoulder the stock mount fits onto. The IGW mount gave me better swing and adjustability. Overall it seems like a quality unit and has been 3 months now and is running great. There are still springs/weights inside of it, although the bearing is sealed. From what I've seen these are the same as Crown. My IGW was well worn out and missing a chunk out of the side of it. I'll still keep it as a spare, but I have no complaints other than they should have kept the same mounting plate.
