Quality is good but looks smaller when it arrived than how it looks on the web.

Nice finish, graduations are clearly marked and its a great tool to use for quick measurements.I use mine to measure faceted stones at the girdle in the MM scale and it hits it right every time.

This pocket caliper is rather handy. It measures things and does it's job. It's also small enough to fit in my pocket. The only problem was that it originally was very tough to slide. A little sanding on the edges of the slide and boom, works perfectly. Love it.

It's the little things! I love my new brass calipers! I use them daily and they make measuring small items for my jewelry business so much easier! Great quality product!

If you look at similar calipers, most have two indicator marks, one for IN and another for OUT. I have been unable to identify any mark, if it exists, to read inside measurements. Totally unexplained are the ten tick marks on the bottom ranging from 0-9 mm. I own several sets of dial calipers, but wanted something small for a shirt pocket. I believe I can measure across the outside of the tips using my dial calipers and then scribe a mark onto these that should be fairly close. Don't buy these unless someone satisfactorily explains to interpret inside readings.

Straightforward device, does it's job. Comes in handy plastic case to avoid scratching other items, catching on clothing, etc. Appears accurate for the tasks I need it for, where +/- 1 mm is adequate.

This is an inexpensive caliper and regrettably, it shows it. It wobbles and is inaccurate. The markings are stamped on it and the brass plate material has been folded - not machined. It looks good until you start using it. It has a vernier scale but it is not properly aligned, so even when closed, it reads that it is not! But, well, it looks good!I have a plastic caliper at home that is my every-day caliper and I have a good digital one. The plastic one is getting worn and this was to replace it, but the plastic one is more accurate even worn than this one is as new.If you are looking for a good quality caliper, this is not it. Mine now sits in my office where I use it for basic stuff that does not require accuracy, and folks come and play with it and comment on how nice it is. So it DOES get complimented, and it does get used; but for modeling and anything requiring accuracy it is not the thing at all.

This is a nice little caliper. I ordered three and expected them to arrive on the 17th. They arrived on the 11th, which is nice. Each one was wrapped in a sealed plastic wrapper. The top edge measures 4 inches to the nearest 16th of an inch, the bottom edge 100 millimeters to the nearest millimeter. The action out of the wrapper is a little stiff and in one case the thumb post caught when extended past the measuring faces of the jaws. The edges were very sharp and irritated the hand after using the caliper for a while. So far this caliper is very similar to the ones you can find in a home center for a similar price. The features that make this little caliper shine for me are two. One, the scale is not a tape stuck on to the metal, it is actually engraved into the brass. This is a much superior method of placing the scale on the instrument. Two, the millimeter scale is equiped with a vernier scale that enables accurate measurements to the nearest 0.1 millimeters. I have not seen this feature on any other small brass caliper.I addressed the deficiencies of the instrument by rounding the edges that come in contact with my hand and flattening the back of the slide with a fine honing stone, leaving the measuring surfaces alone. I then polished the whole thing twice with toothpaste and an old toothbrush. I then worked the slide until it worked smoothly. I then gave it a final polish with brass polish. I now have three finely tuned and easy to use instruments.
