This is a boar bristle brush. Not the silicone kind you see so often. Also, boar bristle is the most commonly used brush in the southern US (it is what my granddaddy used). I use it exclusively for my barbecue sauce on my meat on my barbecue grill. I put my sauce on my meat after it's cooked awhile on the grill. The heat does not hurt the brush. It is well made. It is one and a half inches wide. Indeed, I much prefer boar bristle over a silicone bristle brush!

Have not used them yet but I am happy with how they are made. So tired of silicone brushes I am happy to have some good brushes. Thanks!
