Bought as a thumb guard for whittling. Needs to be folded slightly for my smaller thumbs, but works perfectly.

These are the best finger cots for soldering work. But they are no longer available at Amazon. I went to order more and there was a long lead time and a shipping charge.

These are very comfortable to wear and do an excellent job of protecting my hand from cuts. I expected them to be a bit clumsy to work with but they work better than I ever imagined.

I purchased these finger guards for surf fishing, and they're definitely worth the money. I use braided fishing line, which is not something you want to cast without a finger guard, particularly if you're heaving 5 to 6 ounce sinkers. The one thing I really like about them is they fit rather snug. No slippage during the cast. If you're an avid fisherman who uses braided fishing line, these are the finger guards to have. Highly recommend.

Great finger guards for whittling projects. I'm a beginner and am still learning to control my knife. These have saved my fingers from cuts and blisters.

Just received these and happy to see that they are all the same size. I wanted them as thumb protectors while wood carving and having tried them today - it appears they will work very well for me that way.Previously I used home made leather ones - these fit much better. Hope they hold up, they seem well made, but in any event, having five, they will last me for a good while!

I am a wood carver and can tell you these thumb protectors saved me from serious cuts. I WILL NOT carve without wearing them. These are the best fitting protectors I have tried due to the elastic which keeps them in place

I use these for surf fishing - casting heavy-ish weights into the ocean with braided line - cuts right through fishing gloves (or my fingers), but these work great. Only problem is that when my fingers get cold, these things will slip off & i'll lose them - but that's not the fault of the product.

I put these on my wish list, and received them as a gift. They are leather, but still have great flexibility without being too thin to protect your fingers.I use these for small scale wood carving. They protect my fingers from accidental slips, and feel nice on my finger or thumb. I have not used more than 2 at any given time. They are not really designed for wood carving, and tend to be a bit bulky for intricate nature of wood carving. Also, they make my fingers stink. Washing might help, but I have yet to try. I have not used any other finger protection, but a whittling/carving guard will probably work far better. I now mainly use these only when I know my fingers will be close to where I might slip, or punch through a very thin layer of wood.I probably won't buy these again, but they work well enough that I see no need to try a different product.**If you found this review helpful, please mark it as helpful by clicking "Yes" below.**

If, like me, you enjoy having toasty warm fingernails, then this is the product for you.Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if my fingernails ever got cold, sometimes that makes me physically sick, usually if I'm eating soup around the time.

Though sold as finger protection for handling rough materials, I bought these for finger and thumb protection for woodcarving. The protection is needed for pushing on the back of knife blades when carving hard woods or delicate detail. They are perfect for this job and, though advertised as finger guards, they easily fit my thumb too.

Arrived on time and as advertised. While not made specifically for the wood carver. I think these guards are excellent for that use. You get 5 so you can protect all of your fingers if you want to do that. Otherwise, you have spare sets of finger guards, a good thing in my opinion. They will cover the entire finger or thumb from tip to base. I prefer these guards for that reason. I don't claim to be that great a wood carver, but I am good at knife sharpening, so I prefer all the protection I can get.
