These are great affordable watercolour journals. I enjoy them very much. The paper is as good as any of the higher priced cold press 100% cotton watercolour journals I have purchased. Be sure to pay attention in the description about whether it is hot press or cold press, because they are a much different texture and watercolour experience.

Cute little book to do watercolour in. I’d never used hot press paper before.

It's not a bad little art journal, but...The binding came loose from the front the second time I used it. I didn't have any glue or clips handy, so I spent an aggravating afternoon fighting with the flap while trying to protect the guard page.If you aren't familiar with how different textures react with different media, the paper could be a nightmare. Be prepared to skip pages for the surface you need, or media for the differing textures.A #1 drawing pen will snag into the paper if you hold it at 90°. The point is fine enough that, with the ink making a wet spot, a divot is created surprisingly fast. This happens with many papers, but I've never had it happen so quickly. If you hold it too long for a darker dot, you will not get a clean line starting from that point unless you lift the pen.On the positive side, this is about the size of a cell phone, and the cover is solid enough to keep the pages safe. Each page is perforated for easy removal, so you basically have a book of thick, blank, postcards. It's overpriced for what it is, but not by much. Put it in the 'Save For Later' section of your shopping cart and watch for price drops. $6-7 would be a fair price considering the issues.I bought several, and I'll use them, but I don't think I'll ever trust them for more than small experiments and simple art journaling.

Great watercolor paper quality. Pages can be removed thanks to perforated line. Smooth cover. I would buy again.

I am loving this paper for watercolor. The size is just right too. I only wish it was not perforated so i can do a two page spread.

I love this journal and have been traveling with it for almost a year now! I don't actually use the paper in the journal -- which you can. I cut up pieces of Arches watercolor paper for my paintings and then tape them into the journal after I'm done. But I like that I can still write on the page. The pocket in the back is really helpful to hold paper. Plus, the cover of the journal holds up really nice and the rubber band is very secure.

Really good watercolor journal. Keep this in my bag with a small palette and water brush. Holds water/pigment really well, you can lift and scrub with no issues at all and it's the perfect size. No complaints at all.

I have been very impressed with this brand, much more so than I expected! This book is what you paint in when you're well beyond beginner paper and not quite ready for your nice Strathmore book. The binding probably isn't the best but it's held well enough (pic). The pages do warp a bit but using binder clips works just fine (pic). Finally, regarding warping, I don't do ridiculously wet washes but a standard wet on wet blend is handled just fine and the texture of the paper is lovely (pic).Absolutely will build my practice library with this brand! (I also use Fabriano, Hahnemuhle and Strathmore regularly and as a quality comparison this holds its own in the "better than practice paper" category.

Overall, this is a great little journal. It is slightly smaller than a traditional A5, with cotton paper. My only complaint is that the paper texture is inconsistent. Some of the cold press textured pages are on the left, and hot press textures on the right, and vise versa. It's not consistent at all. However, for the price, it's not a deal breaker. I hope Lightwish will make larger versions of this journal.
