For the most part, it does exactly what it needs to do. The only fault is it seems like if you have one computer turned off then the keyboard will not work on the other PC when it is routed through the switch. This is easily fixed by turning on the other PC. That might be a problem for some people, but not a big deal if you are just trying to set up a new pc.

When I got it, it looked a little intimidating but I went back to where I purchased it and they had an instructional video. Everything works good. When it switches over it does take about 10 seconds but not a big deal. Makes work a lot easier when you're using two laptops.

I have a back-lit keyboard that works great when directly connected to a USB3 port or to an IOGear USB switch. However, it does not work at all with this switch, apparently not enough power from the USB3 port of the computer is passed through to connected devices. I had to return this and replace with a much more expensive IOGear USB switch. You get what you pay for, which is also is apparent in the cheap cables that come with this no-name USB switch or the too light construction. So only buy this if you are sure that your USB devices have negligible power demands.

This is a great KVM. Easily swaps between two computers at the push of a button and carries any usb devices between the two computers for access to a Mouse and Kyboard, Storage Device, or any other usb device. It more or less emulates you plugging the device into each device when it is switched to the other computer.I have 3 computers and my original plan was to be able to switch between my Dell G7 7588 and my work desktop, as it’s only used to run the VoIP software. I would only need to switch briefly to accept the call. However, for whatever reason when it is connected to my Dell, it lags like crazy on both PC’s. Mouse and keyboard work sporadically and keyboard acts like it looses connection and will not type or will repeat characters or backspaces making it virtually unusable. However, connected to the desktop and the HP laptop I do not have this issue.I googled why it might be happening and seems a common complaint amongst several KVM, so don’t really want to knock it being that this seems to be an issue for a lot of KVMs. Issue seems to be when it is plugged into a USB-3 port. Unfortunately, all my usb ports on the Dell are USB 3.0.I have ordered a USB C docking station that has USB 2.0 ports as well as 3.0 that I will try. I will update review if this resolves the issue. However for now, just be aware this may happen.

2 computers connect to 1 monitor and it is just what I needed as I use one computer for music and photography and the other for business.

Small package packed with big functionality. Two entirely different Windows PCs using one large monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse. Push button to switch from one PC to the other. It takes the monitor a moment or two then desktop or whatever app is on top is displayed. Good value.

I have a macbook for work and a PC for gaming, but only 1 desk and needed to switch over the keyboard and mouse when I am moving around in between my setups. I have had this for over a year now and it still works great. I use it almost daily.

If you look at the photos, you will see my old USB switch that I've been using for years. That old device is used for my wireless keyboard/mouse and my printer and has served me well. But it is only for two devices. This new USB switch selector will allow me to share 4 devices between my two computers. My main computer which runs Windows 10 and my secondary which is running Windows 7 and used mostly for some older games and other older programs that don't run well on newer hardware. In the photos you can see I was testing it with the keyboard/mouse dongle. There is a slight delay between switching, and when the devices are ready on the computer. It is the same for the older unit too. But as good as this switching device is, there are three issues I don't like.First: With my old USB Switch, I can control just one of the devices if I wish to do so. Example: My main computer is printing out a hundred pages of documents so while that is being done, I can use my secondary computer to play a game. I only switch the keyboard/mouse leaving the printer still on the first computer. This device cannot do that. Everything is switched over.Second: The indicator lights are very small and hard to see. Not really a big deal, but worth mentioning.Third: The devices you plug into this switch are on the front of it. Now if you are using things like the dongle that I tested it with, or thumb drives, it is fine. But if the device is using a cable (such as a printer), then you have this cable sticking out of the front and that is not acceptable. With my old unit, all cables are in the back.In conclusion, I do like the switch and will use it somewhere, but I don't think it will replace the one I have. I removed 1 star because of the cables in the front issue. That is something that would be very annoying unless you had a way to have easy access to the switch while still tucking those cables out of the way. The other two issues are not that big of a deal and I can live with them. It's a nice switch, I like it, but I can only give it 4 stars.
